Abstract

The development of technology in the digital era has brought significant changes across various aspects of life, including the field of education. The world of education is required to adapt to technological advancements in order to create students with critical thinking skills, higher-order thinking abilities, and the capacity to solve problems creatively and innovatively. Addressing these challenges and the direction of education requires attention to the development of a future curriculum that is dynamic and demands high quality. As the core of education, the curriculum must also undergo transformation in line with the demands of the times and crucial issues that arise in society. This article aims to explore formulations for future curriculum development that are integrated with a deep learning approach, aiming to achieve higher quality by using relevant literature. The findings of this study are as follows: 1) Future curriculum development must be adaptive and functional for students in their lives and daily experiences; 2) Curriculum development needs to incorporate 21st-century competencies; 3) The curriculum must be relevant to students’ conditions and characteristics, particularly those of Generation Z or Generation Alpha; 4) Curriculum development should be directed toward the use of innovative learning models and IT-based media; 5) Curriculum development in its implementation dimension, integrated with a deep learning approach, becomes an important and strategic consideration. All of these aspects need to be considered and implemented in order to produce a future curriculum that is adaptive, functional, and highly competitive.
